Bombo Radyo, broadcasting from 24 key cities and provinces nationwide, is the culmination of 50 years of dedicated work, determination, and perseverance. It all began on July 6, 1966, when DYFM (now known as Bombo Radyo Iloilo), the flagship station, started its broadcast from a humble studio on Mapa Street. Originally a part of the Northern Broadcasting, DYFM Bombo Radyo quickly rose to the top and has maintained its number one ranking in surveys since 1979/1980.

Over the years, Bombo Radyo has seen tremendous growth. It has acquired assets and secured logistics to become a well-known brand, delivering the latest news (local, national, international, sports, and entertainment) while providing in-depth discussions and analysis of timely issues. It is also known for its fearless commentaries and controversial exposes against prominent and powerful politicians.

With a total of 20 Bombo Radyo stations and 11 Star FM stations across the Philippines, majority of which consistently dominate survey ratings as the official number one, it's clear that Bombo Radyo is widely patronized by radio listeners.

This year marks Bombo Radyo's Golden Year Anniversary and also signifies a change in leadership. Dr. Florete's daughter, Ms. Margaret Ruth Florete, has taken on the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Bombo Radyo Philippines.
